It’s Thanksgiving - Time For Some Holiday Shoutouts!

Thanksgiving is a time to be with family and give back to others. I want to give back to the webmaster community and fellow bloggers that have helped me up to this point. I have already had so much positive come out of this blog and hope I can keep meeting great people like the ones I mention. I will even write a small paragraph about their blog and what makes it so great to read!

Let’s start with the first webmaster blog that I read by TylerCruz. I found this blog browsing one of the webmaster forums in early 2006. I thought the idea was great to share his money making strategies and help others improve their websites. What really intrigued me was that he was just an average guy and seemed to have a bunch of the same interests that I did. He found a way to make money off of Poker, which is one of my favorite hobbies. He was not just making peanuts though his forum was one of the top poker forums on the internet and drew thousands of advertising dollars every month. Tyler makes new posts almost everyday just like I do, lately he has been posting about increasing RSS subscribers that any blogger will find interesting.

He also created an inspirational flash video, which I found very inspirational. Watch the whole thing it will help you see the true potential of the web and what hardwork gets you. Keep in mind it is an older video and was created in April of 2006, right when I started reading his blog. Tyler now has a new blog design which has helped to increase his traffic and readers by lightyears. I personally thought his design was one of the best I have ever seen. The cartoon image of him at the top is awesome as well. I tip my hat to you Tyler keep up the good work.

Through reading his blog I was introduced to other top bloggers, one of them being JohnChow who was not nearly as big at the time. I think he only had 800 RSS subscribers and was making less then a thousand dollars a month. Big change since now he has over 14,000. John Chow’s blog posts are not nearly as interesting in my opinion. They are a bit unrelated to making money most of the time but when he does write a few quality ones a week. I found his e-book to be most helpful. I found most of the plugins that I use in this blog from that and a bunch of great tips such as adding a favorite icon, which I did! The book also helped me figure out exactly what I was going to do with this blog. I decided to write quality after reading what he said about it. Just take a look what it did to his blog, people notice these things.

The other two bloggers that I just met after starting this one Thomas Sinfield and The University Kid. They are writing quality posts and great to throw ideas at. I hope they end up doing well as bloggers and end up getting a steady stream of followers. I will do a shoutout on Christmas with some new faces.
