Overlooked by many webmaster including myself is YouTube Video Marketing. I have heard it mentioned numerous times from different people as a reliable way to make money online, but I never took the initative to try it out. Over the next few months I am going to do a case study on YouTube and see what submitting in demand videos with my website does to my revenue and traffic. I have met a few marketers over the years that have had success using Youtube to drive traffic to their landing page. It will not cost me anything so I cannot lose in that regard! Social Bookmarking is a way to share any website with other people on the Internet.  Social bookmarking sites use tagging, voting, or a combination of both to determine what the most popular links are. These links get front page exposure for their catagory and recieve thousands of traffic AND backlinks. This is the reason to submit to them you get a boost in the search engine rankings, more traffic, and backlinks from the people that enjoy your site.I decided to create a list of social bookmarking sites ranking the most popular ones to help everyone like me that could not find a concrete list to use. Derek-Baker.com is now a “Do-Follow” Blog

Well I finally decided to join the masses of bloggers that offer “link juice” by making a my blog a do follow blog. Hopefully I will recieve more quality comments because of this. I also added the Akismet Spam Plugin. Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. This plugin comes with Wordpress and I had thousands of unapproved spam comments but since using it there has been ZERO spam!

History of Follow Tag
Back when Wordpress was first created they made the script built in for Google to notice the “no follow” tag, telling them it was bad to follow that link.  This tag has stayed with Wordpress and requires a plugin to remove it. By removing the “no follow” tag from the comments it will encourage others to leave comments on your blog because they will benefit from it.

Top Commentators
I am sure you have seen this before on many blogs. It is the Top Commentators Plugin. The people will the most comments will be show on sitewide on the sidebar.

Example Scenario 
An example of this plugin would be if someone that owned a Business Directory made a post about Incorporating a Business.  Their link would show up in both the top commentators and the post they were commenting on.

Three Ideas to Make More Money Online

Making Money Online is hard for beginners. Like in everything it all comes down to beating out the competition. Here are three business ideas that are sometimes overlooked or not considered by people starting out trying to make money from home. I have written this for anyone trying to make money online, mothers, college students, and even those that are retired and looking to start earning a passive income using the Internet.

Get Your Family Involved
Make the business a family affair. Most married couples would love spending time together and getting paid building some websites.  Let your wife work from home while you are working hard at your day job and double your income! Work from home moms are gaining in popularity everyday.  If you are fortunate enough to have children ask them for ideas about the popular trends at school. They know a lot more than you do about what is hip. A great resource for those looking for more ideas is by moms.

Use Popular Sites To Your Advantage
Who would think that someone could make money online using Facebook? Well most of the popular sites either have a lucritie affiliate program (i.e. ebay.com), or at least will offer link exchanges with you (i.e. break.com, collegehumor.com). Just looking at their keywords, design, and taking all of that in can help you figure out why they became so popular. Of course having a ton of capital to start always helps! Every way you look at it the worlds most popular sites or the people that visit them can be targeted to help grow your website.

Treat It Like a Real Business
Create a business plan to help piece all the ideas together. Try to get startup money from venture capital firms. There is a wealth of them online just doing a quick Google Search. Being a real business means forming a LLC, Partnership, or  many of the other ways to incorporate your business. Don’t forget to figure out how much taxes you are expecting to pay at the end of the year and budget the business accordingly. I looked into this last year when I was paying taxes and found some small ways to help save money for Small and Online Business Tax Deductions. You can deduct your Internet Service, Computer, Web Hosting, and much more. Sometimes when making money online we forget that this is  a business and we need to be serious and treat it like any offline business would.
