Interview with Donny of Kinkarso Network

How old are you? From where? (Just for an introduction)

My name is Donny. I am a 15 year old webmaster, living in beautiful British Columbia (Canada). I live at home with my two parents and a younger sister. I currently go to a public high school in Richmond, BC (Vancouver).

1. I know you are the owner of the kinkarso network, what websites does this consist of?

The Kinkarso.com Network consists of 6 public websites with 3 currently under construction. ChristianAvenue.org is one of the first ‘real’ websites that I created. It is over a year old, and it is one of the few sites that I actually started from scratch. It is currently the only website right now that offers free live Christian support and advice. For a full list of websites I won see the network main page.

2. When did you start making money online? What drew you to the Internet?

I started creating and developing websites when I was 12 years old; around 3 years ago. It all began with a website called Neopets. It’s a game website, and everyone I knew played on the site, trying to power-up their ‘pets’ and earn more ‘NP$’ (Neopets money). Now I knew it was impossible for me to get the millions of NP$ other people in the game had. I wasn’t prepared to spend years doing it, so, as a 12 year old kid, I decided to cheat. My father was a computer scientist, and knew a bit about HTML & the whole internet thing, so I started asking questions. A few months later, I was a Neopets millionaire and knew HTML like the back of my hand.

3. How much do you make online yearly? (Don’t have to tell me exact just 4,5,6 figures is fine) Is this a full time job?

I am currently earning mid $xx,xxx net each year. Because I spend most of the day in school, I only have 2-4 hours each day on the computer, running my website businesses. I plan on going through university, so it may be some time before I can actually work full time on my projects.

4. What would you consider your most successful project? Why?

Over the years as a web developer, I’ve had many successful projects and many failures. I believe my most successful project at the moment would most definitely be LiveTV. When I purchased the website some time in June of this year, there were no members, and it earned no income at all. Just within a few months, I succeeded in gathering over 16,000 registered members, and generating over $50 each day, every day, growing steadily.

5. What did you do before building websites?

Neopets.com. It’s true.

6. What would be your advice for people new to making money online?

Focus Focus FOCUS. When I first started, like everyone else, I would go around purchasing ebooks promising thousands of dollars with very little work. I’m not going to say that they all lied, because most of them are legit, but without putting your heart and soul into a single project, you will never get anywhere. Once you have found a single project, concentrate all your time in it and understand that nothing is more important than completing that single project. Focus your time, and you WILL succeed.

7. What publisher programs do you use to make money? Would you recommend them?

Personally, I use adsense, although it’s not as steady these few days as I’d like it to be. I have tried and tested a couple of advertising networks to generate revenue with, and adsense is probably the most secure and reliable. It is top notch and very professional, which is why I use adsense to monetize all of my websites with. Highly recommended.

8. What do you focus on when building a website/product the most: SEO, Promotion,Design, or is it something else?

To be honest, I barely ever create my own websites. I usually outsource and just package everything together, or simply purchase an already-made website. When I do create my own website, however, I believe that the first impression of the website is the key to its success. That is why I have a contact list of the best website designers, in case a new idea pops up for a new project. Everything else is secondary.

9. What do you plan to build in the future?

I am actually working on a brand new project that will launch my career to the next level. Rayku.com is a social network based, niche-targeted community website with a twist. I don’t want to reveal too much at this time, but you WILL be blown away when it launches sometime in February. Adam Flynn of Critical Developments is currently working with me to have the backend system finished and functioning. I started on this project around 3 months ago, and it is nearing completion. Keep your eyes open for Rayku.com!

10. Is anything else you would like to let our readers know?

Not really. I believe this interview covered most of what goes on in my life. I may seem to live a pretty abnormal life compared to others my age, but I really don’t. I try my best to waste as little time as I possibly can, and make the most out of life.

Exclusive Interview With Greg-J, Founder of MySpacePros.com

Money Making Entrepreneur Interviews

At the age of 27, Greg Johnson lives on his ranch in Southern Oregon with his wife Mary and their two children where he enjoys the benefits that working online have to offer.

Derek: I know you are the owner of myspacepros.com, what other websites do you own?
Greg: I own a number of websites at any given point in time, so it’s hard to give a list. Obviously myspacepros.com is what I’m known for, but I am also a majority shareholder and the acting CEO of MY EEOS, INC which owns and operates myeeos.com an up-and-coming social network backed by all the site owners that have social networking resource sites.

Derek: When did you start making money online? What drew you to the Internet?
Greg: Answering this question could take up this entire interview so I’ll try to keep it short and to the point. I made the decision to never work for someone else again in 2001. At that time I wanted to build computers so I opened up a small boutique PC shop. I went to have a website made and after getting 4 and 5 digit bids I figured I could do it myself so I learned html. A week or two later I took my completed website to the developers who I had gotten the bid from to ask them for their advice and they told me it was better than they could have done and I was out of their league. I’ve always been a quick study, but It was then that I knew I had a knack for this so I became a web developer. It wasn’t until some time in 2003 that I stumbled across this industry and by 2004 I was taking only the odd web design job.

It’s been 3 years now and I haven’t looked back since. What keeps me here is that the industry evolves on a daily basis. I’m only confined to how creative my ideas are and I have spent more time with my wife and children in the past couple years than most men get to in a decade of working a regular job. How can someone not be drawn to an opportunity like that?

Derek: How much do you make online yearly?
Greg: I make 6 figures. How much someone makes is irrelevant in this industry. What matters is how much I keep and I keep enough to live comfortably and everything else gets re-invested.

Derek: What would you consider your most successful project? Why?
Greg: MyspacePros.com by far. It’s a fantastic story. I took the support forums for a single product and turned it into a fledging online community for web masters. It has come so far from what it was yet there is so much potential for new things. When it’s all said and done myspacepros is going to change the way the industry operates. It may not be called myspacepros, but just keep an eye on it. Some exciting things are coming around the corner.

Derek: What did you do before building websites?
Greg: Before working for myself I couldn’t hold a job for more than 3 months at the most. I’d find something that interested me and once I learned the trade I would be too bored with it to stick around. I worked in food service, construction, corporate sales - you name it.

Derek: What would be your advice for people new to making money online?
Greg: Don’t do it if all you’re here to do is make money. Chances are you’re going to fail. If you want to be successful, and I mean truly successful. The kind of success you see from the ones in this industry that change it - you need to love what you do. Love what you do and the money will follow. The 3 things that matter most to me are persistence, persistence, persistence.

Derek: What publisher programs do you use to make money? Would you recommend them?
Greg: Obviously AdSense. I’ve used AdBrite, ShoppingAds, AuctionAds, YPN, ValueClick, Commission Junction, you name it. I would suggest
trying them all. The ones I like are ValueClick, Tribal Fusion, AdSense and AdBrite. I would not use YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network) though.

Derek: What do you focus on when building a website/product the most: SEO, Promotion, Design, or is it something else?
Greg: Usability and Interface.

Derek: What do you plan to build in the future?
Greg: I’m not a domainer but at last count I had over 330 domains. Every one of those domains were purchased with a business plan behind it. I’ll never get to them all and I come up with new ideas faster than I complete projects. My next project is something that I need to keep under wraps until it’s ready for release though.

Derek: Is anything else you would like to let our readers know?
Greg: I’m always looking for partners and investors. As I said above, I have more ideas and business plans than I’ll ever get to complete by myself and it’s important to play off your strengths. One of my strengths is bringing people together and collaborating with them to succeed, so if there’s anything to be gotten by giving you this interview, that would be it.
