Let me add to the discussion by saying that Article Dashboard (as of April 2009) asked for your personal phone number and mailing address as a requirement in its new account application process. I'm not sure how or why my personal mailing address and phone number needs to be disclosed to an e-publishing site. We'll never be communication via phone or snail-mail. Perhaps they make addition revenue from selling the information to third parties? I don't know, I'm asking. That has been my biggest turn-off so far in dealing with any of the entities on the above list. I'm sure others will find the request odd as well so I thought I would pass it along.
